This was the page that I really started me to fall in love with Andrew Ritchie’s art. And it wasn’t the creepy crawlies in panel 3 that did it either (although they are made of awesome). It’s the protagonist’s eye in panel 4. The first time we ever see his eye and it’s just this little pinprick of sanity in a field of darkness.
Is that a cow head on the upper left side of the panel o’ creepy-crawlies? I see several little skulls, too. Very neat. That guy is HAIRY! Or something. *shudder*
Oh BTW - despite always being on the look-out, I can NEVER find any of these books … seems people are always stumbling across them - people who aren’t me, that is - and that’s just frustrating …
